Who are Bofur and Leanna?
Bofur is a dwarf character from "The Hobbit" films and I pair him with my original character, Leanna, a halfling. I developed Leanna in 2010, initially being a self-insert until I wanted to take her story further and more seriously. Bofur and Leanna's for me was unexpected and ended up being something I hyper-fixated on the longest, if not permanently. They have brought me joy, comfort, and feelings I don't remember having before. One day, their story will be animated.

Summary:

After the Journey

  • After the journey to the Lonely Mountain completed, and the funeral for the king and his nephews had passed, Bofur and Leanna got married, and everyone was invited. They had a huge party in Erebor, celebrating the union of a couple and the life of the fallen king.
  • Many years later, Bofur presents a cottage he built for her (with the help of his cousin Bifur and brother Bombur.) There they will reside during travels to Rivendell and the Shire as a halfway point. Sometimes they stay there for months. 
  • Things go well for the two for several more years. They make and repair toys for the children of Dale, and even stop by towns on the way to give toys to children there too.
  • Bofur and Leanna wanted children the second they got married. She mentioned wanting up to 8 children - as Hobbits like to have big families. However, due to the dynamic between dwarf and hobbit, and the poison spreading in her arm, it would certainly kill Leanna. So they opted for helping other children instead. ​
  • This didn't stop Leanna from getting depressed over the fact that she couldn't have children with Bofur.
  • Sven was thought to be lost after a tragic accident involving goblins and wargs - saving Leanna in the proccess. Leanna was broken for a while, as he was her best friend and basically her brother. 
  • ​About 20 years later, Leanna got grim news that she was pregnant. This devastates Leanna, and Bofur is distraught. Dark days approach the two as impending death approaches her.
  • A moment of clarity helps Leanna realize that she must be strong for her baby and Bofur. This was the sunshine in her life after Sven's death.
  • After a close call with an attack by a wraith and a wolf, Sven appeared and save their lives at the last minute. He had been severely injured on his fall, suffering short term amnesia and trying to find his way back to Leanna. 
  •  Through many herbs, elf magic, and self care and close calls, Leanna was able to give birth to Myrra Rose Baggins.
  • For a few weeks after the birth, Leanna was on death's doorstep. Estilil stayed with her day and night until she was stable again - to which she eventually recovered.
  • After Leanna got better, the two had a blast experiencing parenthood for the first time. Unfortunatley the strain of childbirth did take a toll on Leanna's body- She was a little weaker than she used to be, but was healthy otherwise. At least, for the next 20 years.
  • Leanna spent her time in the cabin or in the garden, showing her daughter all the flowers and plants Middle Earth had to offer. Bofur taught Myrra how to swim as he did with Leanna many years prior, and how to carve wood. Sven taught her how to hunt, fight and fish. 
  • The years at the cottage were not all perfect however, as several wandering mercs, bandits, and goblins trying to sabotage the land but of course, Sven and Bofur would easily and successfully fight them off each time.
